Native of Namur in Belgium, Guillaume Malempré has turned to the practice of percussion since the age of five. Due to his father Marc Malempré, who is a professional musician, he grows up in surroundings open for musical culture. It is with his brother Fédéric Malempré, percussionist, that he starts his first plans for a professional career as drummer. At the age of ten, he begins his first concerts.

In September 2014, he gains access to the “Royal Conservatory of Brussels“ where he followed lessons in the section jazz. This is the occasion to meet professionals as Thierry Gutman, Thomas Grimmonprez, Michel Hatzigeorgiu, Jean-Louis Rasinfosse, Arnould Massart, Manu Hermia, …

To complete his formation, he assists in some master classes: Frank Agulhon, Shai Maestro, Jean-Paul Estiévenart trio, in courses: Xavier Roger, Antoine Cirri, Bo Van Der Werf and takes lessons with Antoine Pierre.

With “Oakstreet Trio”, a group made up of musicians of the Conservatory of Brussels, Guillaume plays at emblematic places for jazz, such as the “Brussel Jazz Marathon“, the “Sounds Jazz Club“, the “Chat-Pitre“, the “Blues-Sphere“ and in summer 2017 at the “Gaume Jazz Festival“.

Guillaume Malempré also takes part in other musical projects: Irish music with “The Rainy Four Seasons“, music of the Renaissance, traditional music and modern music.
