Lucian Sorin Cioargă aka Clopo (born in April 16th 1974 în Câmpia Turzii, Romania) is one of the top Romanian drummers. He started his music career during high school with his first band, Sin. After graduation he moved to the capital city, Bucharest, where he became a member of several top rock bands such as Blues Convecion, Talisman ( the album “La prima vedere”), Roșu și Negru, Phoenix (the record album “La umbra marelui URSS”), Taxi(“Criogenia salvează România “, Trag un claxon” and “Americanofonia”), Nightloosers, Nr.13. Since 2006 Clopo is the drummer of Vama, an independent top Romanian rock alternative band. Through its epic live shows and soaring songwriting, VAMA has helped rebels and dreamers alike find their escape. “Bed for love”, Vama’s first single was released in 2007 and a year later the band released its first self-named album. Their second album, “2012”, was very well received by fans and critics. In May 2013 Vama released “Perfect fara tine” a hit song that topped all the Romanian charts and spent 26 weeks in Mediaforest Top 10. In December 2013 Vama released its first Live DVD from the Bucharest Palace Hall. In 2015 Vama started working with the English music producer James Lewis (Arctic Monkeys, Rudimental, Sunset Sons) for its third studio album and the first one exclusively in English. This move is aimed to expand the band into new territories for which the Romanian language would’ve been a barrier. Vama is an amazing live act. With a style reminiscent of artists like Coldplay, Kings of Leon, and The Killers, they’re a natural fit in venues as large as stadiums or as intimate as a living room.
